Cebu Blue Pothos is a stunning tropical houseplant known for its shimmering silvery-blue foliage that adds a cool, modern vibe to any space. This easy-care plant is a favorite among plant collectors and beginners alike for its graceful trailing vines and ability to thrive in a wide variety of indoor conditions. Whether climbing or cascading, Cebu Blue brings a touch of the tropics to your home.

Cebu Blue is a versatile styling companion. Let it trail elegantly from a hanging basket, spill over a shelf, or climb a moss pole to showcase its mature leaves, which look like a silver Monstera! Its sleek, foliage pairs beautifully with minimalist, boho, or jungle-inspired interiors, making it a go-to for plant parents who love a statement piece that’s also low maintenance.

You can enjoy it practically anywhere since it doesn’t need any special care. It’s pretty forgiving if you forget to water from time to time (or are travelling away from home for a couple of weeks). It’s not fussy about humidity or other conditions.

Epipremnum pinnatum Cebu Blue

Cebu Blue Pothos is one of our favorite Epipremnum varieties thanks to its easy-growing nature, lovely silvery-blue color, and the fact that the leaves fenestrate as they mature. This selection was said to have originated in Cebu in the Philippines. Though it’s native to the tropics, it grows well in most homes.

Pothos Cebu Blue has some similarities to other varieties:

  • At first glance, it might seem similar to Baltic Blue, but the leaves tend to stay smaller, have more of a light, silvery-blue-green color (compared to Baltic Blue’s darker bluish-green color). Baltic Blue tends to have smoother leaves, whereas Cebu Blue foliage is more textural.

  • Monstera siltepecana has similarly sized leaves, but they’re more arrow-shaped and they’re green variegated with silver, whereas Cebu Blue Pothos leaves are evenly colored with no silver variations.

Cebu Blue Pothos is easy to grow. It tolerates low light but grows best (and grows fastest) in lots and lots of light. Its ideal spot is within about 3 feet of an east-, west-, or south-facing window. Artificial light works, too, if you don’t have a bright window or patio door.  Water as the top half or so of the soil dries to the touch. If you’re not sure if your Pothos needs water or not, it’s usually better to wait as it would prefer to be a bit too dry than a bit too wet. It will start to wilt if it gets excessively dry, but it’s best to prevent wilt if you can. This climbing/trailing variegated houseplant grows well in average household temperatures, but thanks to its tropical roots, it holds up to heatwaves and doesn’t require particular care when the mercury soars. Do try to keep it over about 50F/10C for best results. It does all right in average household relative humidity levels but prefers above-average relative humidity (over 50 percent) if you’re able to provide it.

Note: This plant may have some natural degree of toxicity and may cause discomfort or illness if ingested. Additionally, exposure to the sap of this plant may cause discomfort to individuals with a sensitivity to it upon contact. Grown for ornamental purposes and not intended for human or animal consumption.

One of the best books on shame out there
Format: Paperback
As a shame researcher and educator, I often refer to DeYoung's book because it is so full of resources and relational tools for clinicians and individuals relating to the neurobiology of shame. It is a very small book with A LOT of information. Many references to the shame research and suggestions for treating shame in clinical practice from a perspective of right brain relationship dynamics. Thank you Patricia!

Highly recommend.
Format: Paperback
One of the most helpful, lucid, and comprehensive books on shame I've encountered. This was required reading for graduate school and is now one of my most returned to, dog-eared, and referenced books. Can't recommend enough.

Thorough, clear, enlightening, and inspiring - not often achieved in academia
Format: Paperback
This is an extraordinarily well-researched manual. It presents for the reader a Catholic-Christian perspective on psychology/mental health which is faithful to the magisterial teachings of the Church and the Christian tradition. So much good will come to the clinician/professor/pastoral leader/student/generally-concerned-citizen who engages thoughtfully with the CCMMP. More to the point, those whom they serve will reap the real harvest. This could be one of the most important books written in this century. Yes. Bold claim. Bolder still and brighter yet the vision of the human person elucidated in this volume. "The glory of God is a human person fully alive" (St. Irenaeus of Lyon) The CCMMP sheds light for the reader to catch that vision of God's image (the human person) in a world so dimmed by confusion. Read this book. Or pick put some chapters that are of particular interest to you and go through those. You'll be glad you did.

Towards a Christian Psychology or Cure of Souls
Format: Paperback
Mental health professionals will benefit from this comprehensive manual that has been extensively researched, as it provides a way forward in the direct application of the Christian tradition in a therapeutic context. This book restores the authority within psychology back to the spiritual dimension rather than the empiricism and rationalism that is the legacy of the Enlightenment project and consequently of mainstream psychology. An important matter not addressed in this study are the arguably deleterious impacts of the Second Vatican Council (1962–1965) on the hearts and minds of the faithful, not to mention the crisis in religious vocations to which it has led. Therefore, references to the doctrinal teachings of Vatican II (and the contemporary church) should be considered with discernment so that a clear distinction can be maintained between traditional Catholicism and some of its modern aberrations (Coomaraswamy, 2006). Notwithstanding, the book has many strengths that will benefit therapists who are interested in Christian psychology, or the “science of the soul” found within all of the world’s religions. It is by adhering to one of the divinely revealed spiritual traditions that we can gain access to a liberating discernment—“Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32)—which is essential for any integral therapy and healing. -Spiritual Psychology and Counseling, Vol. 7, No. 2 (2022)

tour de force work, written in the Catholic intellectual tradition
Format: Hardcover
What a masterpiece. I would recommend this book as required reading for Catholics in the helping professions--counseling, social work, clinical psychology, etc. I'm a grad student in Catholic counseling at a non-Catholic institution, and this has been a go-to text in my classes. So grateful to the professors and contributors at Divine Mercy University for their many, many years and sacrifices putting this treatise together. It is going to bear much fruit in the years to come. Thank you!!
