It is highly sought after, yet grows well in NZ's climate, making it a great addition to any summer. It typically grows to a height of 30-50cm and adds a touch of ephemeral beauty to any garden or pot.
This hardy bulb of the Amaryllis family produces beautiful 10-12 cm spidery edged semi-trumpet blooms on 60-70cm stems. They are delightfully scented and an excellent cutflower. Like most South Africa bulbs they like dry winter conditions and are best planted in a free draining position.
Plant with the neck and shoulders protruding from the surface of the soil. Remove all spent foliage each Autumn ready for new Spring growth.
